Booknetic Saas - Delete Stripe Connect Account

When tenants set up their own Stripe Connect accounts, registration issues can occasionally arise. For example, a customer may want to use a different email or adjust other registration details, but they’re often left with no way to reset their information. Stripe’s dashboard doesn’t always allow complete account deletion, as the option is sometimes restricted, so Stripe recommends using their API to delete accounts securely from a server. This plugin provides a straightforward solution for fully deleting a Stripe Connect account, removing it from the customer’s Booknetic payment method and resetting it to the initial registration screen. The Connect account will also be removed entirely from your Stripe dashboard. Warning: This action will permanently delete all account data and cannot be undone.

Why This Plugin is Useful

Stripe doesn’t consistently allow account deletion directly from the dashboard due to occasional restrictions. By using this plugin, you can delete Stripe Connect accounts securely and directly via the API, bypassing dashboard limitations. This is especially helpful when an account setup encounters issues or requires resetting.

How to use

1. Just install the plugin as normal in Wordpress, and done. Its now active.
2. New Admin Menu Option: After activating the plugin, SaaS admins will see a new menu option in WordPress titled Delete Stripe Connect Account.
3. Enter Account Details:
   • Inside this menu, you’ll find the following fields:
     • Field 1: Enter Account ID – Paste the Stripe Connect Account ID, which you can find in your Stripe dashboard.
     • Field 2: Enter your Stripe Secret Key – Paste your Stripe Secret Key, which authorizes the deletion.
4. Delete Process:
   • Click the Delete Account button to confirm.
5. Confirmation Message:
   • If the deletion is successful, a message will confirm that the account has been removed. This will reset the customer’s Booknetic payment method to the registration screen and remove the Connect account from your Stripe dashboard.

This plugin offers SaaS admins a simple, secure way to manage and reset Stripe Connect accounts, providing greater control over account setup and troubleshooting.
